Today Comet and Cupid received their new sleigh bells from Lignite Carriage and Sleigh Bells Company.   The sound of Christmas is in the Air!  

Lone Star Santa’s Visit the DRRR

The Lone Star Santas held their Annual Gathering in Waxahachie this weekend.   Santa’s from Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Georgia visited the DRRR  Saturday.   Besides the great fellowship the Santa’s had photographs taken with the reindeer.   A great time was had by all.

Santa Claus checked the North Pole mailbox.  It was loaded with letters from good boys and girls from all over the world.  While he was here, he started loading his magical toy bag with presents.   He had the elves install a satellite dish on the reindeer barn roof which links his barn office directly to his office at the North Pole.

The elves were busy Monday getting everything ready for Santa’s Tuesday inspection visit.  It went perfect.   While Santa was here, he checked the North Pole Mailbox.  The mailbox was full of letter from boys and girls around the world.  Santa even had time to check his sleigh and spend time with Cupid

Santa’s reindeer elves have been busy this spring working around the ranch.  Santa’s barn office is almost finished.  Here’s a few photos of the inside.

2011 Christmas Movie filmed at the DRRR

We had an exciting Friday at the ranch.   The 2011 Christmas movie” When Angels Sing” filmed all day at the DRRR.   The production of the movie is being filmed in different locations throughout Texas.  Comet did an outstanding job both in front of the green screen and without the screen.  The film is being shot and produced in Texas.  Stars include  Connie Britton, Harry Connick Jr., Kris Kristofferson, Chandler Canterbury, Willie Nelson and Fionnula Flanagan.

Texas Springtime Comes Early

Only in Texas can the weather change so often.  Last week we had ice and snow.   Many area businesses and schools were closed for several days.  This weekend the weather was in the mid to high 60′s.  Comet, Cupid, Prancer and Blitzen enjoyed the nice spring weekend.

Double R Reindeer Ranch Launches New North Pole News Blog!

Greetings Everyone,

Today Santa and the Elves at the Double R Reindeer Ranch launched our new North Pole News Blog.  We will continue to update everyone on our future events both at the ranch and at various event locations. 

We would like to thank everyone for attending our events.  The sleigh phone has been ringing off the hook for weeks with inquiries about when the ranch is open for tours.  This November we had our 1st Annual Open House, plus three different days in December for Ranch tours.  Next year due to popular demand we are considering adding additional tour days.  We think one will be a nighttime tour, the reindeer barn is very magical at night.
